Any time a credit card number is asked for during checkout for payment, it will be SSL encrypted. When you enter your credit card number into the order form, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form, then decoded when it gets to the Yahoo server. The information you provide will be stored securely on the servers.

Yahoo! Merchant Solutions is certified CISP-compliant. Created by Visa and MasterCard, the Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) outlines a standard for security procedures for merchants and service providers that store, process, or transmit cardholder data.

Security Standards

To protect customer information while in transit, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) with 128-bit encryption. SSL offers the highest level of encryption supported by commercial web browsers and follows the standards established by credit card leaders such as Visa and MasterCard. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that the information cannot be read as it travels over the Internet.

We do not accept credit card numbers delivered by email. You should never send credit card information by email, as it is not secure.
